As many of you know, the CME Group is increasing the real-time market data subscription fees for non-professional market data subscribers to depth of market, effective 01 April 2020. Additionally, in accordance with CME Group’s non-professional eligibility criteria, market data fees will be applied to each user id that is entitled to access the CME Group’s real-time market data, multiplied by the maximum number of concurrent sessions (the max session count) permitted for that user id. For example, if, during April 2020, a user id for a non-professional market data subscriber is entitled to access real-time market depth data from all 4 of the CME Group’s exchanges and has a max session count of 3, the fee incurred by that user id for April 2020 will be the applicable rate multiplied by 3 (the max concurrent session permitted for such user id) even if the user id logged in 2 or fewer times concurrently, or even if the user id did not login at all. Rithmic has been informed that the CME Group has not introduced any changes to counting criteria and these charges are in line with current CME Group policies.
Members of proprietary trading houses should contact their prop shop to obtain information about fees for prop shop traders.
At this time, plug-ins to apps that login for real-time market data do not incur additional market data subscription fees. Consequently, Rithmic will be modifying R | Trader Pro to accept plug-ins and will be modifying Rithmic’s R | API+ and R | Protocol API to connect to R | Trader Pro, provided that apps that connect to R | Trader Pro run on the same machine as R | Trader Pro. Although this modification to R | Trader Pro currently is under development and not yet available, Rithmic plans to modify R | API+ and R | Protocol API immediately so that current apps incorporating either of those apis need only modify their connectivity modules, not their functionality. This means that a market data subscriber who generally logs in with several apps concurrently, will be able to plug them in to R | Trader Pro and not incur additional market data subscription fees for their use. Of course, apps that do not incorporate the new versions of R | API+ or R | Protocol API will be able to continue to login, but may require a higher max session count and, therefore, incur higher fees.
